Problems Involving Train Crossing Bridge or Platform

In problem based on trains, the concept used is same as that of speed and time except the length of train is taken into account.

Problems Involving Train Crossing Bridge or Platform:

Let us consider the case of a train crossing the bridge of a platform or any object of a certain length,here we the length of the object in question has to be added in the length of the train. Time taken by a train of length a meters  to cross another stationary train , bridge or railway platform of length l meters is equal to the time taken by the train to cover ( l + a ) meters.

Speed of the train

     =frac{(Length  of the train+Lrngth of the stationary object)}{Time taken to cross the stationary object}

Illustration: A train of length 150 m, moving at a speed of 90 km/h can cross a 200 m bridge in _____________
